Apartments.com Kicks Off Peak Rental Season with First National MySpace Partnership to Enhance Renters Apartment Search Experience
(CHICAGO) April 22, 2008 – Apartments.com, the leading online apartment search resource, kicked off peak rental season today by announcing its first national partnership with MySpace, the world’s most popular social network. This is the first integrated campaign that MySpace has entered with an online apartment Internet Listing Service (ILS).
The customized community entitled My Place on MySpace, is a comprehensive one-stop-shop of apartment listings and resources that enables renters to search from thousands of apartments and find a new place to call home. By visiting, renters are able to find their perfect place by customizing search criteria to specify price, location, number of bedrooms, amenities and more.
“The Apartments.com profile provides renters and MySpace users with an impressive tool during the apartment search process,” said Chris Carlson, regional vice president of Midwest sales for MySpace. “Finding a home is a stressful enough time in life as it is but having resources like the ‘My Place on MySpace’ that make the lives of our users easier by enabling them to make smarter decisions is what MySpace is all about–empowering users is what we do best.”
Additionally, the My Place on MySpace profile will host articles from Apartments.com which help users through the entire apartment living cycle including questions to ask before signing the lease, decorating their apartment and living with a roommate. Renters are encouraged to friend the profile to receive alerts when content is updated.
“Since nearly sixty percent of MySpace users between the ages of 21 to 34 rent, MySpace is an ideal place for Apartments.com to reach renters and introduce them to the streamlined apartment search capabilities we provide,” said Kevin Doyle, senior vice president and general manager of Apartments.com. “MySpace users can seamlessly search for a new place to live—even if relocating—through a comprehensive list of apartments featured from around the country.”
